There have been numerous e-coupon services that have been popping up recently and I am going to start adding these e-coupons to the Giant Eagle matchup each week. This first post is going to discuss Cellfire, an e-coupon clipping service, and frequently asked questions about e-coupons. If there are any questions that you have about Cellfire or e-coupons that are not answered by this post, please leave a comment and I will try and answer your question as best I can.
1. What are e-coupons?
E-coupons are coupons that are loaded onto your store savings card. The savings from e-coupons are automatically deducted from your transaction amount when you buy the participating product.
2. Can I use e-coupons with manufacturer coupons?
No. Giant Eagle does not allow you to stack manufacturer coupons and ecoupons. Make sure that you keep track of which e-coupons you have loaded onto your card because if there is an e-coupon loaded onto your card for $0.40 off an item and a paper manufacturer’s coupon for $0.50 off an item, Giant Eagle will automatically use the $0.40 ecoupon. The $0.40 e-coupon will not double so you would be losing money if you loaded the $0.40 ecoupon onto your card.
3. How can I keep track of which e-coupons are on my store savings card?
Cellfire allows you to print a list of your clipped coupons.
4. Can I remove e-coupons once I have clipped them?
No. Cellfire does not allow you to remove the coupons once you have clipped them. I would only add coupons when I know that I will be buying the item and when I do not have any other coupons to use.
5. How many e-coupons are available to print?
As of this posting, there are 25 e-coupons to choose from on Cellfire. I’m not sure if this varies or if it is a set number.
6. How often are e-coupons updated?
E-coupons for Giant Eagle are updated every other Sunday.
7. Is Giant Eagle the only store participating in Cellfire?
No. There are numerous other stores participating in Cellfire. Two of the others include Kroger and Shop ‘n Save. For a complete list check out the Cellfire website.
8. How do I get started?
Click here to head to the Cellfire website and register your store card.
9. Does it cost anything?
No. Cellfire is completely free.
